KESSIE NAMED NORTHEAST-10 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Benard Kessie (Worcester, Mass.), a freshman forward on the American International College men’s soccer team, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Kessie, a graduate of Worcester’s Burncoat High School, started his collegiate career off in fine fashion, recording three goals against Assumption in a 4-2 victory to open the season.  It marked the first hat trick by an AIC player since Carlos Stewart scored three times in a win over Saint Rose in 2001.  In a 2-1 week, Kessie finished with four goals, recording a goal in a loss at nationally-ranked Dowling.

The Yellow Jackets are idle until Saturday when they travel to Albany, N.Y. to face The College of Saint Rose in a 1:00 match.
