CHRIS CHARLES NAMED TO DAKTRONICS SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION
RINDGE, N.H. (November 16, 2006) - Junior Chris
Charles (Brooklyn, N.Y.) of the American International
College men's soccer team was named to the 2006 Division II
Daktronics All-New England Men's Soccer Second Team, it was
announced Tuesday evening. The Daktronics Division II
All-Region and All-America teams are selected by a vote of sports
information directors at Division II institutions.
Charles, who was a First Team All-Northeast-10 selection, led AIC in scoring with 11 goals and an assist for 23 points in his first season with the Yellow Jackets. He recorded a team-high four game-winning goals on the season, including a goal 15 seconds into overtime in a 2-1 overtime win over Saint Anselm, and was named Northeast-10 Player of the Week on September 11 when he scored four goals in an 8-0 win over Saint Rose.
AIC finished the regular season at or above .500
for the third straight year, posting an 8-8-3 overall record.
