AIC Earns 4-1 Road Victory over St. Anselm
Manchester, N.H. (October 16) -- American International College used a goal and an assist from Sean Stevenson (Holyoke, Mass.) to garner a 4-1 conference victory over St. Anselm Tuesday afternoon. The win propels the Yellow Jackets to 4-9-3 overall and 4-7-1 in the conference while the loss drops the Hawks to 5-9-1 overall and 3-8-0 in the conference.
American International struck quickly into the match. Stevenson headed in a Leonardo Santos (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) cross at the 2:23 mark to give the Yellow Jackets an early 1-0 lead.
The Hawks bounced back to tie the game 1-1 at the 40:34 mark, as Jeff Dell'Orfano (No. Andover, Mass.) picked up a loose rebound and scored. The match went into the half 1-1.
American International came out strong in the second half scoring three goals. Ricky Morris (Victoria, Grenada) scored a breakway goal at the 61:30 mark off a pass from James Davidson (Ottawa, Ontario), making the score 2-1. Chris Charles (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted his sixth goal of the season in the 81st minute, assisted by Stevenson, and Bernard Kessie (Worcester, Mass.) added a late penalty kick goal at the 88:15 mark, sealing the 4-1 victory for American International.
AIC will host Bryant, October 20th at 3:00 pm.
