LUDLOW, Mass. – The men’s soccer team fell to 1-8-3
on the season and 1-7-1 in the Northeast 10 after falling to
Southern Connecticut (7-2-3/4-4-3 NE-10) 2-0 at Lusitano Stadium.
Graduate student Matthew Marcoux
(Blackstone, Mass./Blackstone-Millville) registered six
saves for AIC.
After a scoreless first half, the Owls got on the board at the
52:45 mark when senior Colin Jackson (Hartford,
Conn./Manchester C.C.) netted a feed from classmate
Larry Yeboah (Worcester, Mass./Penn State).
Yeboah extended the Southern Connecticut lead to
two goals 4:27 later with an assist from junior Tom Mattera
(Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk).
Senior Brendan Lawless (Orleans, Mass./Nauset)
made 3 saves in recording the shutout. The Owls out shot AIC 12-7
in the match.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday when they travel to
Bentley for a 12 p.m. match, while Southern Connecticut hosts
Assumption Saturday at 7 p.m.
