Men's Soccer Tops Bryant in OT 1-0

Boxscore

Springfield, Mass - Leonardo Santos (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) scored a goal a little over six minutes into overtime to lead the American International College men's soccer team to a thrilling 1-0 Northeast-10 victory over the visiting Bulldogs of Bryant College Saturday afternoon. The win propels the Yellow Jackets to 5-9-3 overall and 5-7-1 in the Northeast-10 while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 10-7-0 overall and 6-7-0 in the Northeast-10.

Neither team could muster up a goal in regulation so the game came down to overtime, where Santos took a brilliant feed from Bernard Kessie (Worcester, Mass.) from the right side of the field and tapped it past Bulldog goalie Tom Madden. Madden turned away five shots on the afternoon.

Yellow Jacket goalie Anthony Tranghese (East Longmeadow, Mass.) posted three saves in net for AIC. The Yellow Jackets out shot the Bulldogs 15-14 and held a 6-5 advantage in corner-kicks.

AIC will visit New Haven October 24th at 4:00 pm for a non-conference season-finale.
