MEN’S  TENNIS: PENMEN STING YELLOW JACKETS

 
            MANCHESTER, N.H.  - Southern New Hampshire University posted a 7-2 victory over American International College here today in Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis action. SNHU snapped a two-match losing streak and improved to 3-4 overall and 3-4 in the league.  The Yellow Jackets dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in the NE-10.
            Senior Pedro DePaula (Rolandia, Brazil) posted a straight-set win over Brandon Carlucci at No. 1 singles, and teamed up with sophomore Luis Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela) to earn an 8-2 win over Carlucci and Peter Almlof at No. 1 doubles. Ramirez defeated Almlof 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.

            Freshman Andrew McFarland (Windham, ME) was also a double winner for SNHU, as he posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Anthony Grassetti at No. 4 singles, and team up with sophomore Michael Ricciardi (Londonderry, NH) for an 8-4 win over Max Collins and Even Pfefferkorn at No. 2 doubles. Collins posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ricciardi at No. 3 singles, while Pfefferkorn earned a 9-7 win over sophomore Sam Gould (Londonderry, NH) at No. 5 singles.

            SNHU earned a win by default at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
            SNHU returns to action Wednesday (4/4) when it travels to Saint Anselm College for a league match.  AIC hosts Saint Anselm tomorrow (4/1) at 3:30 p.m.
