Softball Rolls Past Queens, Falls to Rollins in Florida

Box Score vs. Queens; Box Score vs. Rollins

Clermont, Fla. - The American International College softball team (3-3) avenged Sunday's 8-1 loss to Queens with an 11-1 victory in five innings before dropping a 9-5 decision to Rollins Monday at the USA Softball National Training Center. Junior Kelly Brown (Gill, Mass.) crushed one homer, smacked three doubles and drove in eight runs in the two games.

Brown had a monster game for the Yellow Jackets in their win over the Knights, hitting a three-run home run to go with two doubles that accounted for another three RBIs. Sophomore Katie Elie (Worcester, Mass.) also got in on the action with a two-run bomb and junior Sara Puglisi (Amsterdam, N.Y.) picked up the win in the pitchers circle to improve to 2-0 on the season. Brown connected for two more doubles with three RBIs in the loss to Rollins.

AIC will next take on Ferris State Wednesday at the USA Softball National Training Center at 9:30 a.m.
