Jackets Compete in Yale Season Opener
Springfield, Mass. – The American International College track and field squad competed in the Yale Season Opener Saturday afternoon. Maurice Calenda grabbed second in the long-jump (6.78) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.07) while Deion Lawson came in third place out seven competitors in the 60 meter hurdles finishing with an 8.56 to lead the Yellow Jackets on the afternoon.
Lawson had a strong meet. He finished in ninth place out of 20 jumpers in the men’s long jump, leaping 6.10m. Terry Goldson finished fifth overall in the men’s high-jump, hoping 1.81m.
In the men’s 60 meter dash, Jackets racer Lloyd Brown took eighth with a 7.24 while Creig Levens finished sixth overall in the 5000-meter run scampering to a 15:47:50.
AIC will race in the Tufts Jumbo Invitational January 12th.
