Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams Compete at Wesleyan

Middletown, Conn. - Freshman Courtney Roberts recorded two top-10 finished, placing seventh in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 400-meter dash with respective times of 28.31 seconds and 1:07.58, as the American International College track & field teams competed at Wesleyan's Swanson Invitational Saturday. Classmate Maurice Calenda led the men's squad with a first-place finish in the long jump (6.83m), a third place finish in the triple jump (13.72m), a fourth place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.63) and an eight place finish in the 400-meter dash (51.78).

Freshman Sarah Beaudoin recorded a seventh place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:29.50 and finished ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:39.77. Classmate Stephanie Kerber's 9.04 meter throw in the shot put was good for sixth and her 21.52 meter toss in the discus throw was good for ninth.

Freshman Lloyd Brown finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.83 seconds. Freshman Matthew Hegarty finished seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:23.31, while classmate Mikell Branch finished 10th in 4:29.08. Freshman Justin Roberts 45.61 meter toss in the javelin throw was good fifth and he tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing 1.75 meters.

Freshman Leonard Bunion finished third in the shot put and sixth in the discus throw with respective tosses of 12.36 meters and 34.03 meters. Classmate Paul Skarka came in fourth in the discus throw (35.48m) and sixth in the shot put (11.52m), while freshman Edwin William finished seventh in the shot put (11.04m) and 10th in the discus (29.09m).
