Men's Track & Field Team Places Fourth at Tartan Invitational, Women's Team Ties for 17th

Northampton, Mass. - The American International College men's track & field team placed fourth of 13 teams at Smith College's Tartan Invitational, while the women's track & field team tied for 17th in the 18-team field. Freshman Maurice Calenda won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.96 seconds and the long jump with a distance of 6.83 meters.

Junior Lloyd Brown placed third in the 55-meter dash with a final time of 6.49 seconds. Freshman Deion Lawson placed third the 55-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash with respective times of 7.88 seconds and 23.66 seconds. Freshman Matthew Hegarty placed third in the 5,000-meter run in 16:06.53, while classmate Creig Levens placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:20.01.

Freshman Terry Goldson placed fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.80 meters. Antoine Relerford placed third in the long jump at 6.09 meters. Junior Leonard Jusme placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.48 meters.

On the women's side, freshman Courtney Roberts placed seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.37 seconds and finished ninth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.07 seconds. Freshman Sarah Beaudoin finished 12th in the mile run with a time of 6:04.69.

The Yellow Jackets will next compete at the Northeast-10 Championships, hosted by Southern Connecticut, Feb. 16.
