Men's Track & Field Ties for 23rd at New England Championships
Durham, N.H. - The American International College men's track & field team tied with the U.S. Coast Guard Academy for 23rd over and finished fifth among Division II teams at the 2008 New England Intercollegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of New Hampshire. Freshman Terry Goldson (Ansonia, Conn.) placed second in the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters.
Freshman Maurice Calenda (Bloomfield, Conn.) placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 14.04 meters and finished 12th in the long jump at 6.52 meters. AIC's 4x100 meter relay team placed eighth with a time of 43.57 seconds, just 0.10 seconds behind seventh-place Central Connecticut (DI) and 0.19 seconds behind sixth-place Southern Maine (DIII).
Freshman Deion Lawson (Rahway, N.J.) finished
14th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.96 seconds.
Freshman Matthew Hegarty (Springfield, Mass.)
finished 28th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:22.36.
