Women's Volleyball Swept by Pace 3-0
Pleasantville, N.Y. - The American International College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (30-15, 30-8, 30-21) loss at the hands of the Pace Setters in a Northeast-10 match-up Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 5-11 overall and 3-9 in the Northeast-10 while the win propels Pace to 11-13 overall and 8-4 in the Northeast-10.
Rebecca D'Agostini led the Pace attack recording a triple-double with 11 kills, 26 assists and 10 digs, to go along with a pair of service aces. DePaoli chipped in with seven kills on the afternoon.
Juniors Korena Johnson (Friendswood, TX/Clear Brook) and Danielle Furka (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) contributed with nine and seven kills respectively. Furka also recorded a team-best 14 digs.
The Setters also received solid contributions from their freshmen Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly), Victoria Pompilus (Mt. Vernon, NY/Mt. Vernon) and Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors). S. Johnson finished the game with three service aces and two block solos, while Pompilus recorded six kills and Kazmierczak chipped in with 13 digs.
The Jackets will travel to Franklin Pierce to take on the Ravens
Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm.
