Bryant Beats Women's Volleyball 3-1
Springfield, Mass. - Despite a team-high
13 kills from freshman Kambryn Williams (Pomona, Cali.) the
American International College women's volleyball team dropped its
first match of the season to Northeast-10 foe Bryant, (30-24,
27-30, 30-20, 30-16) Wednesday evening in the Butova Gymnasium on
campus at AIC.
The Yellow Jackets saw productive evenings from seniors Charisse Trotman (Bristol, Conn.) who totaled 11 kills and Alicia Cotton (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) who finished the match with 10 kills. Sophomore Jennifer Hormann (Forest Grove, Oregan) led the team with 16 digs.
AIC dropped a close first-match 30-24, but stormed back to nod things up, taking the second match 30-27. Bryant proved to be too strong down the stretch, taking the final two matches and their first Northeast-10 victory of the season. The win propels the Bulldogs to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the Northeast-10. The loss drops AIC to 0-1 in both the Northeast-10 and overall.
The Jackets will host UMass-Lowell September 11th at
7:00pm
