Volleyball Downed 3-0 to the Visiting River Hawks

Springfield, Mass - Despite nine kills and three solo service aces from junior Charisse Trotman (Bristol, Conn.), the American International College women's volleyball team was downed 3-0 (30-21, 30-29, 32-30) at the hands of the visiting River Hawks of UMass-Lowell in Northeast-10 play at the Butova Gymnasium Tuesday evening.

AIC was out-played in the first-match of the contest but stuck together and played strong in the last two matches just getting nipped 30-29 and 32-30 by the fierce River Hawks.

Sophomore Jennifer Hormann (Forest Grove, Oregan) played well for the gold-and-white earning a team-high 13 digs in the defeat. Leading the way for UMass-Lowell was Elsa LeGrand who had 12 kills and 12 digs.

With the Loss AIC drops to 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in the Northeast-10. The win propels UMass-Lowell to 3-4 overall on the season

AIC will travel to Southern Connecticut to take on the Owls September 19th at 7:00 pm
