Volleyball Slowed by Stonehill 3-1

Springfield, Mass. - Despite 13 kills from freshman Kambryn Williams (Pomona, California) American International College fell at home, 3-1 (30-18, 35-33, 28-30, 30-23) to the visiting Skyhawks of Stonehill College in a Northeast-10 battle Wednesday evening.

Stonehill took control of the first match, cruising to a 30-18 victory. The second match was more competitive as the Yellow Jacket's battled back-and-forth with their crafty opponent eventually falling 35-33.

Despite being behind in the third match, AIC showed resilience, winning 30-28, pulling the contest to 2-1. The Skyhawks showed they were the better team in the fourth and final match downing AIC 30-23 for their first Northeast-10 victory of the year.

The loss drops AIC to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the Northeast-10 while the win propels Stonehill to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in the Northeast-10.

Junior Katherine Masson knocked home 17 finishers for Stonehill while freshman Andrea Wirth tallied a team-high 40 assists.

In the loss, Manda Bronson (Elkland, Pa) notched six aces while senior Ozge Ozkan earned a game-high 49 assists.
