Springfield, Mass. - Women's basketball players senior
Alexis Castro (Chula Vista, Calif.) and junior Stacy Boisvert
(Agawam, Mass.) along with men's basketball sophomore forward
Aikeem Vanderhorst (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and junior track and field
competitor Maurice Calenda (Bloomfield, Conn.) were all named to
the Northeast-10 honor roll.
Castro averaged 19 points, 11.5 rebounds and three assists in a 1-1 week for the ladies basketball squad. The senior netted 24 points to go along with 15 boards and four assists in a victory over Pace while scoring 14 points with eight rebounds at UMass Lowell. Boisvert averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds for AIC. She recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Pace and tallied 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and a 7-for-10 showing at the free throw line against UMass Lowell.
On the men's side, Vanderhorst averaged 16.5 and eight rebounds this past week. He scored 22 points with six rebounds at UMass Lowell and registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards against Pace.
At the Northeast-10 Championships, Calenda finished second overall in the men's long jump leaping 7.00m and fourth overall in the 200-meter dash, earning a time of 22.82. He led the way for the Yellow Jackets who finished sixth overall at the meet.
