Women's Basketball

Three Members of the Basketball Team Earn Honor Roll

Springfield, Mass. - Senior Alexis Castro (Chula Vista, Calif.) and graduate-student Alissa Rubino (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) from the women's basketball team and sophomore Aikeem Vanderhorst (Bar Shore, N.Y.) from the men's squad earned recognition on the weekly Northeast-10 honor roll.

Rubino averaged 14 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds this past week. She scored 13 points and dished out six assists in the regular season finale against Franklin Pierce and then scored 14 points with six rebounds, five assists and two steals in a Northeast-10 first round win over Saint Rose.

Castro averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds in a pair of contests. She netted 16 points with 12 rebounds in the regular season finale against Franklin Pierce and poured in 14 points with 12 boards in the NE-10 first round win over Saint Rose.

On the men's side, Vanderhorst averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games. He scored 19 points with eight rebounds against Franklin Pierce and netted 19 points with seven boards in the first round of the NE-10 tournament at Stonehill.
