Castro Named NE-10 Player of the Week, Boisvert on Honor Roll

North Easton, Mass. - Senior forward Alexis Castro (Chula Vista, Calif.) was named the Northeast-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week and junior forward Stacy Boisvert (Agawam, Mass.) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 2-0 record this past week with victories over Saint Michael's and No. 8 Southern Connecticut.

Castro averaged 30.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 62.9 percent from the field (22-35), 44.4 percent from 3-point range (4-9) and 92.3 percent at the free throw line (12-13). She scored a school record 38 points in the Yellow Jackets' 67-57 win over the defending national champion Owls, shooting 14 of 20 from the field and 10 of 11 at the free throw line, and grabbed 13 rebounds. Castro scored 28 points in the second half of that game, shooting 10 of 12 from the field and 6 of 7 from the charity stripe. She also scored 22 points in the win at Saint Michael's.

Boisvert averaged 11.0 points and 3.5 rebounds last week. She scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win over Southern Connecticut.

AIC returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. Northeast-10 contest at Le Moyne.
