Castro Honored By Northeast-10

Easton, Mass. - Senior forward Alexis Castro (Chula Vista, Calif.) was named the Northeast-10 women's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 30, 2007. She averaged a double-double with 24 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to lead the Yellow Jackets to a pair of wins at the 2007 Sheraton/Hall of Fame Classic.

Castro who was also named the NE-10 Player of the Week Dec. 10, 2007, scored 26 points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots in a 59-49 victory over Bloomfield and netted 22 points with 13 boards and two steals in a 65-52 victory over Wilmington. For the season, she is averaging a team best 19 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

AIC returns to action Saturday when it hosts Southern New Hampshire at 1:30 p.m. in a Northeast-10 contest.
