Women's Basketball Picked Third in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll
South Easton, Mass. - The American International College women's basketball team received five first-place votes and was picked to finish third in the 2007-08 Northeat-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Yellow Jackets finished in a three-way tied for second last season with a 16-6 conference record and closed the season with an overall record of 21-8.
Bentley also received five first-place votes and was the coaches' pick to win the league title with 200 points. The Falcons finished 23-8 last season and also tied for second in the conference. Defending national champion Southern Connecticut was picked to finish second and received four first-place votes. The Owls, who finished 34-2 last season, won the regular season conference title with a record of 20-2 and went on to win the conference tournament title.
AIC will open the 2007-08 season Nov. 17 at New Haven at 3 p.m.
