Warner's Nine Points Paces Women's Lacrosse in 13-9 Win over Franklin Pierce
Springfield, Mass. (April 26, 2007) - Sophomore
Katie Warner (Westfield, Mass.) scored five goals and tied the
school record notching four assists in American International
College's 13-9 victory over Franklin Pierce College in a
Northeast-10 women's lacrosse showdown Thursday afternoon. The
Ravens fall to 2-14 overall and 1-9 in NE-10 while AIC moves to
2-10 overall and 2-8 in the Northeast-10.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first four goals of the game and never relinquished the lead. Junior Caitlin Mooney (Wilbraham, Mass.) also scored five goals and moved into third place all-time in Yellow Jacket scoring history while sophomore Danielle Hodecker (W. Springfield, Mass.) chipped in with two goals in the winning effort for AIC.
Sophomore Carla Savini (Danvers, Mass.) led the Ravens with two goals while Erin Hopkins turned away 10 shots in net.
Senior Megan Trytsman (Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa) celebrated her final home game by turning away a season high 19 shots in net for AIC.
The Yellow Jackets will compete in their final game of the
season when they travel to Merrimack College Saturday April
28th, slated for a 1:00 start time.
