TWO WRESTLERS REGIONALLY RANKED AS AIC PREPARES FOR NCAA REGIONAL

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 21, 2007) - A pair of American International College wrestlers are ranked in the top six of their respective weight classes in the latest East Regional rankings released Monday.  Sam Gauvine (Enfield, Conn.) is ranked sixth in the 141 pound weight class, while Jeff Haddad (Old Saybrook, Conn.) is ranked sixth in the 133 pound weight class.

Both Gauvine and Haddad are considered the favorites from the Yellow Jackets to advance from this weekend's NCAA Division II East Regional being held at UNC-Pembroke to the Division II national meet held March 9-10 at University of Nebraska-Kearney.  A wrestler must finish in the top four of this weekend's meet, which kicks off Friday, i n order to advance to the national tournament.

Haddad, a sophomore, and Gauvine, a freshman, have both been successful for first-year AIC coach Chaz Seibert.  Haddad has compiled a 12-9 overall record while Gauvine currently sits at 14-7.
