WRESTLING ROLLS AT NY/MASS. CHALLENGE
TROY, N.Y. (January 28, 2007) - The American
International College wrestling team posted a 3-0 mark Sunday at
the NY/Mass. Challenge hosted by RPI, defeating host Rensselaer,
the National Collegeiate Wrestling Association's No. 6 team, the
NCWA's No. 4 team in SUNY-Albany and also topping Syracuse.
The duals were well represented with NCAA, NJCAA and NCWA teams. In addition the state of Massachusetts had good showings by Northeastern University and Springfield Tech Community College.
With the weekend wins the AIC wrestling team moves to 1-2 in the NCAA Division II East Region and 5-7 overall in dual meet action.
The Yellow Jackets will be in action again on Wednesday, January 31st when they travel to NCAA Division III powerhouse Rhode Island College who is 7-2 in the NECCWA conference and 10-6 overall.
