WRESTLING'S GAUVINE RANKED SIXTH IN NORTHEAST REGION

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 8, 2007) - Freshman Sam Gauvine (Enfield, Conn.) of the American International College wrestling team is ranked sixth in this week's NCAA Division II East Regional ranking in the 141 pound weight class in the ranking released Monday afternoon.

Gauvine, who has compiled a 9-6 record to date, captured the championship in the 141-pound class at the Ted Reese Invitational hosted by the University of Southern Maine last month.  He has posted victories in five of his last six matches, including wins over Kutztown and Duquesne to close out the first semester.

AIC returns to action January 20 at the East Coast Duals.
