AIC downs Trinity 26-21, with victory in final match

SPRINGFILED, Mass. - The American International College Wrestling Team recorded a win over Trinity College (Conn.), at AIC's Butova Gymnasium, Wednesday evening.  The Yellow Jacket's trailed Trinity by one point going into their final bout of the evening, 21-20.  The match was decided in the heavyweight bout when graduate student Daniel Dalle-Molle (Kotzebue, Alaska) pined Nikolai Harovas (West Hartford, Conn.) at 5:29 in the final match to give AIC the 26-21 victory.

In the 125lb match freshman Carlos Lara (Avon, Conn.) defeated freshman Max Walk (Paoli, Pa.) in a 7-4 decision. At the 133lb weight class junior Jeff Haddad (Old Saybrook, Conn.) beat junior Keith Hernandez (Brooklyn, N.Y.) 7-5. Sophomore Sam Gauvine (Enfield, Conn.) won a 15-7 major decision over freshman Cameron Reed (Elgin, Ill) in the 141lb division.

At the 165 pound class sophomore John Mullinix (Baltimore, Md.) recorded victory by pin fall at 3:51 over senior Ralph Fedele (Verbank, N.Y.).  Also receiving a win for AIC was freshman Yaakov Bloch (Ashkelon, Isreal) in his 184lb match, when he majored Jason Orloff (Goshen, N.Y.) 17-8.

Next up, the AIC wrestling team welcomes Rhode Island College and STCC on January 30.
