SETTERS SHUT DOWN WOMEN’S SOCCER 3-0

BOX SCORE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 13, 2005)Kelly Fazio (Ann Arbor, Mich.) scored three times in a span of just over eight minutes midway through the second half to lift Pace University to a 3-0 win over American International College in Northeast-10 women’s soccer action at AIC Park.  With the win the Setters improve to 5-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the league, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-4-0 and 0-3-0 in the NE-10.

Fazio would break a scoreless deadlock at the 61:19 mark when she took a pass from Marta Anderson-Winchell (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) and fired from 15 yards for her third goal of the season.  Fazio would then strike twice in a 40-second span, notching an unassisted tally at the 69:08 mark then closing out the scoring with just over 20 minutes remaining when she took a long ball from Evelyn Graham (The Colony, Texas) and registering her third goal of the contest.

Jocelyne Durando (Monroe, N.Y.) made four saves en route to the shutout.  Sara Hyde (Winter Haven, Fla.) made three saves and allowed one goal over the first 68:31 before giving way to Danielle Hodecker (West Springfield, Mass.), who did not make a save.  AIC outshot Pace 16-14 on the afternoon.

AIC returns to action Thursday when it travels to Bryant University for a 3:30 contest.
