SAINT MICHAEL'S BLANKS WOMEN'S SOCCER

BOX SCORE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (September 26, 2006).- Visiting Saint Michael's College used a goal in each half to post a 2-0 win over American International College in Northeast-10 women's soccer Tuesday afternoon at AIC Park.  The win snaps a five-game winless streak for the Purple Knights as they improve to 4-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in NE-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets are now 1-9-0 and 0-8-0 in the league.

Saint Michael's got on the board just 6:50 into the contest when a crossing pass by Kelley Ruch (Woodstock, Vt.) was headed home by Alicia Baxter (Waltham, Mass.).  The Purple Knights would strike again in the 76th minute when Laura Anacone (Mansfield, Mass.) scored on a feed from Katie Burdett (Milford, N.H.).

Gillian Goldman (Stratham, N.H.) and Molly Cole (Dover, N.H.) made a combined three saves en route to the shutout.  Danielle Hodecker (West Springfield, Mass.) stopped 10 shots on the afternoon for AIC.  Saint Michael's outshot AIC 15-8, including a 12-2 advantage in the second half.

AIC returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Post University for a 3:30 contest.
