WOMEN'S SOCCER STARTS SEASON OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT

Wilmington, Delaware (August 24th, 2007).-  Senior forward Joanne Germano (West Springfield, Mass.) scored a goal and added two assists as the American International College women's soccer team downed Golden Beacom 6-0 in a non-conference match-up Friday afternoon.

In the victory, Lindsey Wolfe (Westfield, Mass.) scored a goal and added two assists and freshman forward Sarah Boornazian (Farmington, Conn.) scored twice.

AIC scored five times in the first frame. Junior goaltender Danielle Hodecker (West Springfield, Mass.) was only tested twice in the first-half and was replaced by freshman red-shirt Kara Potts (Westfield, Mass.) in the second stanza.

Tyler Rockefeller (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored a goal and added an assist while freshman Nikki Gode (Killingworth, Conn.) chipped in with a score of her own.

The Yellow Jackets out-shot Golden Beacom 19-10.

The Jackets will stay in Delaware to take on Wilmington College tomorrow afternoon at 11:00 am.
