Women's Soccer Falls at Southern New Hampshire,
4-1
Manchester, N.H. -- The women's soccer team lost its final game of
the season at Southern New Hampshire University, 4-1, Tuesday
night. The Yellow Jackets finished the season 7-13-0 overall and
2-12-0 in the Northeast-10. Sophomore midfielder Morgan
Mastronardi (Corunna, Ont.) scored in the 40th minute
for AIC.
Senior forward Lori Robinson (Bow, N.H.) scored
twice to lead the Penmen (8-10-1, 6-8-0) to the win. She opened the
scoring in the 17th minute and capped off the scoring with four
seconds remaining in the match. Both goals were unassisted. Senior
defender Michelle Moore (Duxbury, Mass.) scored
what proved to be the game-winner in the 28th minute with an assist
from senior forward/midfielder Laurie Boland (Worcester,
Mass.).
Mastronardi cut the Yellow Jackets deficit in
half at 2-1 in the 40th minute off a feed from freshman defender Cassie
Ashwell (Agawam, Mass.). Junior midfielder
Nicole Ebner (Rochester, N.Y.) added a goal in the
79th minute for Southern New Hampshire off a corner kick from
Boland.
Junior keeper Stef Young (Natick, Mass.) made two
saves to record the win in net for the Penmen, while junior keeper
Danielle
Hodecker (West Springfield, Mass.) registered seven
saves in goal for AIC. Southern New Hampshire outshot the Yellow
Jackets 15-7 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
