PFEFFERKORN CAPTURES SECOND-STRAIGHT FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK AWARD

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (April 9, 2006) - Freshman Sarah Pfefferkorn (Ludlow, Mass.) of the American International College women's tennis team captured her second straight Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week award, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.

Pfefferkorn, playing out of the No. 1 singles slot, upped her win streak in singles to four with a 2-0 week last week.  She posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Lauren Nigrelli of Southern New Hampshire University on Thursday then extended her unbeaten string to four heading into Monday's match at Pace with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Lauren Koloski of Saint Anselm College Sunday.  Overall Pfefferkorn has won five of her last six singles matches and sports a 5-3 record this season.
