SARAH PFEFFERKORN NAMED NE-10 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (April 4, 2006) - Sarah Pfefferkorn (Ludlow, Mass.) of the American International College women's tennis team was named the Northeast-10 Conference "Freshman of the Week" on Monday, it was announced by the conference office.

Pfefferkorn, a graduate of Ludlow High School, was 2-1 last week in No. 1 singles play for the Yellow Jackets.  On Saturday she bested Saint Rose's Ashley DuRoss 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 and followed that up with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Nicole Beaubriand of Le Moyne on Sunday.  Pfefferkorn has been victorious in three of her last four singles matches, all playing out of the No. 1 position, and sports a 3-3 record in singles play this season.

The AIC women's tennis team returns to action Thursday when it travels to Southern New Hampshire for a 4:00 match.
