PFEFFERKORN EARNS THIRD-STRAIGHT SINGLES VICTORY, AIC FALLS
MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 6, 2006) -
Sarah Pfefferkorn (Ludlow, Mass.) of the American
International College women's tennis team won her third straight
match at No. 1 singles, but the Yellow Jackets dropped an 8-1
decision to Southern New Hampshire University Thursday
afternoon. The Penmen are now 6-3 and 5-3 in Northeast-10
play while the Yellow Jackets are 0-8 overall and in the league.
Pfefferkorn, who earned Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week honors on Monday, won her third straight match and fourth out of her last five singles matches with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lauren Nigrelli. Pfefferkorn upped her record to 4-3 on the season.
AIC returns to action Sunday when it hosts Saint Anselm for a 1:00 match.
