Women's Tennis Downs Le Moyne 7-2
Syracuse, N.Y. - The American International College women's tennis team registered its first win of the season Wednesday afternoon with a 7-2 victory at Le Moyne. The Yellow Jackets improved to 1-5 on the season and in Northeast-10 play, while the Dolphins dropped to 2-12 overall and 2-8 in conference play. AIC swept the doubled matches, which included an 8-6 first doubles victory for juniors Sara Pfefferkorn (Ludlow, Mass.) and Sara Strzempek (Chicopee, Mass.) over senior Sabrina Megali and sophomore Claire Wittmeier.
Senior Lindsey Wolfe (Westfield, Mass.) and sophomore Tyler Rockefeller (Greenlawn, N.Y.) teamed for an 8-4 win over Erin Murphy and Molly Slifer. Pfefferkorn was an 8-4 winner over Megali at first singles and Rockefeller was an 8-6 winner at fourth singles over Murphy.
The Yellow Jackets will next host Bryant Friday at 3:30 p.m.
